Housebuilder Cruden is set to start work on a mix of 49 affordable properties in Livingston, on behalf of Link Group Ltd. The £8.7m development will see energy-efficient new homes built on a previously disused 1.2 hectare, brownfield site in Craigshill.

The modern development will provide a range of sustainable flats, built across three blocks, which will be three and four storeys high. The one and two bedroomed homes will provide residents with high quality accommodation for social rental.

Located at Sydney Street, the vibrant development is ideally positioned, close to a number of amenities in the heart of Craigshill, including shops, health centres and schools. The new homes also provide a fantastic range of on-site facilities including attractive green space, electric vehicle charging points, bike storage and on-site parking.

Work will start this Autumn and is expected to complete in Summer 2025.

Fraser Lynes, managing director of Cruden Homes, said: “We are pleased to continue our successful relationship with Link as work gets underway at Sydney Street. This exciting development will transform a previously empty site to bring quality, new homes to the local area.

Man Raids Construction Site, Fatally Stabs Ex-wife in Row in Kiambu

A man is on the run after he raided a construction site and killed his ex-wife in a domestic feud in Ngewa, Kiambu County.

Phillis Ngina Gachohi, 33 was at the site as a mason and was on the ground floor helping others deliver construction materials to the upper floors of the structure when the incident happened on Sunday, police said.

And to prevent the other masons at the site from coming to her rescue, the attacker identified as Henry Kabogi Gichuru removed a makeshift ladder to the upper floors.

This hindered the other workers from coming to the rescue of Ngina.

According to police, the attacker was armed with a knife. He dragged the woman into a nearby coffee and stabbed her twice in the stomach and neck killing her.

He later escaped to unknown destination, police said.

Police said the other workers came to scene minutes later and found Ngina had bled to death. The team was informed the man and woman had domestic disputes before the woman left him.

The police visited the scene but did not find the killer weapon.

The body was later moved to the mortuary.

Police say they are looking for the suspect for grilling over the murder.

Best Easy Website Builders 2023

GoDaddy offers clear and simple website design layouts. One factor that can often make web builders difficult to use is that even if they do offer ADI functionality, and countless template designs, these can often be overcomplicated.

This is arguably the case with Shopify, but not with the likes of GoDaddy which, in comparison, provides easy-to-edit and pleasantly simple designs. When we did our first-hand user testing, we found it was easy to use different themes, upload images, and that the side menu made everything easy and convenient to use.

As well as its simple, easy-to-use templates, GoDaddy also allows its users to restore their website, or unpublish the site if they publish by mistake. However, website restoration does come with a hefty price tag.

You can even reset your site if you want to start again which, as many startups know, is something that can happen if you decide to rebrand.

GoDaddy boasts simplicity, which is why it scores so highly on our list. However, it does fall short in other areas, particularly when it comes to features, even more so when it comes to its ecommerce capabilities.

GoDaddy also recently updates its Clients and Sites dashboard to help you easily visualise all the widgets you need to understand how your site is doing. All you need to do is drag and drop onto the dashboard to get access to all the analytics you need in one page.

It scored a measly 2 out of 5 in the ecommerce area of investigation and, because selling on the platform isn’t as plain sailing as selling on the likes of Wix, you may find that GoDaddy isn’t actually the easiest web builder to use, particularly if you are looking to create an online store.

Global biopharmaceutical manufacturer eyes Wrexham base expansion

Ipsen BioPharm has submitted plans to build a 120,000 sq ft manufacturing facility next to its existing warehouses off Ash Road North on the city’s industrial estate.

Part of the Ipsen Group, the global manufacturer wants to expand its existing Wrexham base where it develops products that provide unique therapeutic indications for severe diseases.

Designed by Lovelock Mitchell Architects, the scheme would deliver a three-storey manufacturing facility featuring open-plan offices, a large plant room, and air-handling units.

Ipsen owns the vacant site, which was previously occupied by a large warehouse and despatch building before it was demolished in 2019.

Proposals also include the provision of 24 car parking spaces dedicated to the new building, in addition to the 264 existing spaces used by Ipsen staff across the whole estate.

Ipsen has been based at the Wrexham site since 1995 and currently employs more than 400 people there, making it the city’s third biggest employer.

If these plans are approved, the new warehouse will accommodate an additional 24 new staff.

The company occupies 53 locations across the world, with another two UK bases in Oxford and Slough.

How To Make Your Website Accessible

The world is becoming more socially aware and conscious – the idea that a section of the population cannot access a building or cross the road safely is abhorrent. Of course, there is still a long way to go in making the world a fully accessible place for people with different or limited abilities, but the internet is lagging far behind. Fortunately, technology constantly improves. What’s more, if you don’t update your website every few years, your business will look dated and out of touch. There are many opportunities and resources to make your website accessible – you just need to take advantage of them.

Focus on the Content

Your content will be the bulk of your website, so it’s a good place to start. Your overall aim for your content is for it to be good quality. This should always be the case, no matter who you are trying to appeal to, and fortunately, this will serve to make it accessible too. Content writing is a skill that takes time to master and is not something you want to get wrong. You should consider contacting a company like Click Intelligence which provide professional content writing services to make the most of your site.

Your content should be free of spelling and grammar mistakes as a baseline and have high readability. There are many readability scorers online where you can check and score your text – and the level should be determined by your audience. If your audience naturally includes people who find it harder to understand complex sentences, you will need to make your content easier to read.

Links (internal and external) are important in a website’s content. The links should be as accurate and descriptive as possible. It should be clear from the linked words what type of
